The Atalon Series Race round 1 went well, with perfect weather attracting 30 drivers who were driving all makes of different makes & models of cars and engine. There were drivers from Malaysia-JB and of course Team XRAY-Hobbylink was also present.
Qualifying
We had three rounds of 7min heats. After two rounds of qualification it was Nelson driving his V10 holding provisional pole. After the last qualifying, young gun Shafiq â“ driving his Novarossi-powered XRAY NT1 â“ took the Top Spot, beating Nelson's time by 0.5sec.
A-Final
The final started well with Nelson and Shafiq taking the early lead with Team XRAY drivers Jesse Wu and Tom Goh following closely behind. After 2 minutes, leader Nelson made a mistake and retired, while Shafiq had some technical issues and was overtaken by XRAY duos Jesse Wu and Tom. After the first refuel stop, it was Frendy that took the lead while Jesse Wu and Tom were right behind the leader. At the 10min mark, Team XRAY driver Jesse Wu took over the lead with Tom following closely. They never looked back for the remaining 35mins of final, bringing home 1st and 2nd place finishes for Team XRAY.

B-Final
In the B Main, Mr. Don Chng drove his Novarossi-powered XRAY NT1 flawlessly, leading from beginning to the end and winning the B final.
